Appointment confirmation email
Print the PDF you received after booking. The barcode is scanned at security.
Valid passport
At least 2 fully blank pages. Bring all old passports if you have any.
Visa form + 2D barcodes
Printed from your IRCC online application. Bring 2 copies of the 2D barcode sheets. No manual edits.
Biometric Instruction Letter
If you applied online, IRCC sends a BIL. Print it + VFS consent form (2 copies) + passport bio page (2 copies).
Supporting documents
Bank statements, ITR, employment letter, travel itinerary — originals and photocopies.
Cash or UPI for VFS fees
Cards are NOT accepted at Canada VFS Mumbai. Pre-pay online to avoid carrying cash.
Optional service receipts
If you've paid for Premium Lounge, Courier, etc. — bring receipts.

Arrive 15 minutes early
Walk-ins not allowed. Bring printed appointment letter — barcode scanned at security.
Security check + bag inspection
Max one personal bag (55 × 35 × 20 cm). Random bag searches happen.
Token + waiting area
Quiet, A/C waiting hall. Your token shows on a screen.
Document submission counter
Staff verify your printed application + 2D barcode + supporting docs against IRCC's checklist.
Pay VFS service charges
Cash or UPI ONLY. Cards not accepted.
Biometrics: 10 fingerprints + photo
About 5 minutes. Wear bright colours (avoid white). No mehndi on fingertips.
Receive your tracking receipt
Reference number to track status on the VFS Global website.

Permanent Residence
PR applicants must give biometrics with EVERY application. The 10-year rule does NOT apply.

Emergency biometric appointments
Available ONLY for: (1) death of an immediate family member in Canada, or (2) critically ill family member in Canada. Immediate family = spouse, dependent child, parent, or guardian.
Bring: death certificate / medical letter / funeral home letter. Cannot be booked online — call the VAC contact centre or visit in person. Doesn't speed up IRCC processing.
