You can also use it if you hold a Maritime Crew visa and need to join a ship in Australia within 5 days of arrival. If your Australian transit is less than 8 hours and you won't leave the airport, you likely don't need a visa at all.

- Indian travellers transiting Australia for under 72 hours en route to a third country
- Applicants with a confirmed onward booking + valid entry documents for the destination country
- Maritime crew joining an eligible ship within 5 days of arrival (must also hold Maritime Crew visa 988)
Not eligible under this visa:
- Anyone staying in Australia for leisure, business or other purposes (use Visitor 600 instead)
- Anyone without a confirmed onward ticket and valid destination-country entry documents
